HOW IT WORKS!
|
The The American Sun Solar Corporation solar components work
together to capture the sun
to power your home or business!
Here is how it all works:
|
|
| |
| |
Solar Modules |
1. |
Solar panels are installed on your roof or adjacent structure. These panels are made up of photovoltaic cells, which convert sunlight into DC power.
|
| |
The Inverter
|
2. |
Once - then the DC power from the photovoltaic ( - pronounced: foto-vol-tae-ik) cells is sent to an inverter, where it is converted into AC power, or standard household electricity that you can use to power your home.
|
| |
| |
The Electrical Panel |
3. |
The AC power goes from the inverter to the electrical panel, or what most people commonly refer to as "the breaker box". Once the power gets to the electrical panel - it is available to be used for any and all of your electrical needs. The utility meter will still monitor your electrical supply - and, when your solar system produces more power than what you need - the meter will SPIN BACKWARDS! This will give you credit with your utility company! "That's IMPRESSIVE!"
|
| |
Utility Grid |
4. |
The utility grid remains in place to supply you with electricity when you need more power than your system has produced; this usually only happens at night.

5. |
The Power Shield Monitor is programmed to keep track of how much energy your "SunStation"TM should produce; if production levels ever dip below normal, the monitor will send an alert to The American Sun Solar Corporation an alert. If you should ever want to know how your system is performing, you can log in to your American Sun Solar PowerPortal via our website. From a simple web interface you can track energy usage and system performance with the click of a mouse. |
